Ian D. McClure
Ian McClure is responsible for executing IPXI’s transactional products, including Unit License Right Contracts. Mr. McClure’s work focuses on identifying, evaluating and executing high-value opportunities for monetizing IP through IPXI’s ULR Contract exchange. Mr. McClure has led development of IPXI’s IP pipeline and inventory growth of high-value IP portfolios from leading corporations, universities and national laboratories for trading over IPXI’s exchange.
Prior to joining IPXI, Mr. McClure was a corporate & securities and intellectual property law attorney with Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, where he focused his practice on IP transactions, specifically in the IP monetization and management space. Mr. McClure has helped execute trademark, copyright, patent, and domain name transactions in various industries, including in the merger and acquisition context.
Mr. McClure has published extensively on intellectual property as an asset class, including the exciting issues of IP management and monetization. His works have been published in law reviews and industry journals, including Chapman Law Review, Buffalo Intellectual Property Law Journal, Intellectual Asset Management Magazine, Intellectual Property Magazine, ABA Landslide, The Federal Lawyer, The Corporate Counselor, Business First, The Lane Report, and others. He has presented to Bar Association and in-house counsel conferences on IP strategy. He has also guest lectured on various IP-related topics at the University of Chicago Law School and Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Mr. McClure holds a B.S. in Economics from Vanderbilt University, cum laude, and a J.D. from Chapman University School of Law, magna cum laude. He is an L.L.M. in Intellectual Property Law candidate at DePaul University College of Law. Mr. McClure is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Illinois, and is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
