Trevor M. Blum is an analyst in Ocean Tomo's valuation division in Chicago, Illinois. His responsibilities include drafting valuation reports and constructing valuation models for a variety of uses, such as fund-raising, bankruptcy support, and
intellectual
property transactions. Mr. Blum has performed valuations for a breadth of clients from industries including, biomedical devices, financial services, and telephony communications.
Prior to his time valuation division, Mr. Blum was an analyst in Ocean Tomo's expert testimony division. His experience included a focus on drafting expert testimony reports and economic damage models for patent litigation, namely for clients in the telephony communications and biomedical device industries.
Mr. Blum's responsibilities at IPXI include managing daily operations, with a focus on client relationship management and marketplace due diligence. He is also actively engaged in industry standards research, with a focus on identifying appropriate ULR™ contract targets.
Mr. Blum holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in business, with a focus in business economics/public policy and international business, and a minor in German from Indiana University-Bloomington. He keeps contact with the University through periodic intellectual property lectures to undergraduate courses at the Kelley School of Business.
He has co-authored several papers relating to intellectual property litigation, including Back to IP Basics with Green Energy Licensing, IP Law 360, January, 9 2009 and The Economic Considerations of Damage Calculations Post eBay, Patent Strategy & Management, July 2009. Mr. Blum is a member of the Business Valuation Association and a Certified Financial Analyst candidate.
