As a part of the Cleveland Decorative Arts Speaker Series, David & Ginger perform "Music and Finer Instruments of Early America."

In line with the exquisite Georgian architecture and fine silver, furniture and clothing sported by the colonial elite, musical instruments served as an emblem of wealth. The ability to play expensive instruments, specifically those appropriate to one's gender as well as social class, went hand in hand with cultivating manners and other skills such as horsemanship and dancing. David and Ginger Hildebrand draw upon the historical records of 18th-century America to discuss and perform favorites from the drawing room, theater, dancing assembly concert hall and gentleman's club - along the way featuring the harpsichord (spinet), violin, hammered dulcimer, Spanish and English guitars, and common and German flutes.
